Can you believe how much you love and adore your child (ren)? The sleepless nights, tantrums and overflowing diapers, they don't have a chance. Our babies have our unconditional love, as much as we know how to give it anyhow. How much greater is God's enduring love for us? He makes us a new creation, as shown in 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. I mean, how great it is that! Jesus even died so we would have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
Do you believe you are loved, how about lovable? Think about your baby at this point and your love for him or her... You are that baby to God, and His love is even deeper than our minds can imagine. Despite what negative thoughts may try to creep in, you are a person and God loves you. He sees you in all times, knows all things; yes even your cares and concerns. Allow God's blessings and love in and try accepting the people He puts in your path too.
It is so beautiful to me how Jesus will bless me through others, even if it isn't always easy to accept. Can you relate? Wow, the ladies and friends who brought us meals after our babies were born, I'm so thankful. The encouraging hug, smile or "I love you" mean so much. The many times of visiting and support from Mimi, Papa and Nana are treasured too.
Feeling like you need a friend, a nice meal, a date night, nap, baby sitter, a hug, smile, prayer, laughter, shelter; although I am good for most of those things I think God is wanting to be there for you in a new way.
Application: Because I am not the best at resting, I don't always ask for help. So ladies, let me encourage you. If someone wants to bless you and watch the baby or babies for you while you nap and/or shower, allow it. If you have a friend God sends your way who wants to clean house for you while you are caring for your newborn, baby, toddler, kids, and teens-allow it. If your husband offers to watch the kiddos so you can get out for awhile, go for it.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for your many blessings in my life that you love and encourage us. Please let us not reject a friend's servant heart by being too busy, prideful or embarrassed. Help us love ourselves and believe in your undying love for us, that we may be vessels for you. Your will not ours dear God. Replace any defeat and hopelessness with victory, deliverance and joy. Let your joy be our strength.
I'd love to know how you ladies are doing and if you are being encouraged out there. Have you seen the Christian free games yet to see if your kiddos like them too? What is your favorite childhood memory or memory with your child (ren)? What are some of your favoritebaby gifts?
