Devotion: A Mommy's Impact

joy-babyI am so amazed and overwhelmed by God's love for us. I had quite the tear filled night with the youth group and cannot imagine what so many kids deal with on a daily basis. There are children raising kids, living without parents, having to do things alone continually. Through it all, I am so glad that God is there in the midst of it.

Remembering my time shared with a young lady who was telling me of her mother's death from a car accident when she was only 4 1/2 years old just breaks my heart. Her words, "it's really hard living without a mom," made me really stop and thank God for the honor of being a mommy and for having one too. The joy that my children bring me on a daily basis and their sweet personalities and lives are truly cherished. What an encouragement to give back and bless our little babies as well as those who may not have a mother in their life.

Our children only get one childhood, so let's enjoy it to the fullest and bless them dearly in the process. Those bright eyes, bundles of joy, beaming personalities, innocent mischief makers are in for a treat when we grasp the impact that we make in their lives. It is in each of us mothers, the gift to give a lasting love and legacy of care and joy to our children. You are in charge of your actions, although your emotions may want you to believe differently at times.

Reflection: Give yourself a pat on the back mom's and know that you are making an impact in the lives of your children. By that, lives will be changed around you too. So, remember this when the day's end is near and you are folding laundry, finishing the dishes, organizing the kids diaper bags, paying bills and finding toys everywhere along with cleaning everything over again, trying to remember when you last showered; you are making a difference in the world by taking a moment and giving your children love, time and consistency. Wow, how beautiful it is to be a mommy.

Isaiah 66:3 "As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted..."

Abraham Lincoln "All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother."

Joel Barquez "The Miracle of Life nurtured by a woman who gave us love and sacrifice...MOTHER."

Unknown "If I had a flower for each time I thought of My Mother, I could walk in my garden forever."

Prayer: Dear God thank you that I am a loving mommy. I am so thankful that you gave me my children and safe deliveries, good health and all. You are amazing and cherished God. You knew me and formed me as you did my girls and I thank you for my mother and for all the mothers in the world. Please bless us mom's to teach our children in your ways. Help us to follow and obey s0 that our children will also. Where there is anything lacking Jesus please provide. Help us to sense our children's needs and provide for them. Thank you and praise you Jesus. Bless all those who are hurting with the loss of a mother, and bless them as loving mommy's who will make a difference in their kid's lives.
