As a baby longs for mommy's embrace, so I long for you dear God. My children are daily reminders of my need for Christ. Those moments that I'm tempted to scream, spank or cry make me lean upon God even more. It can be pretty trying and stressful while raising a baby and toddler.
Thankfully, God's grace is sufficient and helps me to get by. Knowing He's here and that I am not alone is a gift and comfort for sure. He's here for you too, no matter what crazy scenario you are facing. I feel for you too and pray that I can be a source of encouragement. There is a beautiful understanding and bond between mom's who have "been there, wiped that." There's nothing quite like feeling understood in those silly parenting moments or frustrating times. The connection, compassion, fellowship, understanding and wisdom that comes from meeting with other mom's is invaluable. Not to mention, the added bonus of wonderful friendships. How nice it is to share and know we are not alone.
No matter where you are in your mom journey, God is with you. I feel for you too and have probably "been there, wiped that." Let's remember who loves us and wants what's best for us; the God who will never leave us or forsake us. Allow His love to wash over you even in the non-stressful times of child rearing, baby spit up and tantrums.
Action: Call a friend, be an encouragement. Set a play date for your kids and meet with a friend or friends. Write down your mommy frustrations and give them all to God.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for being with me in every season. Thank you for your guidance, love and joy; your understanding wisdom and for the Holy Spirit of comfort. Thank you for my children and for blessing me with friends. Help me serve you and them and to never lose hope, hanging tight when the winds of life frantically blow. Help me to comfort others as they may be struggling too, at times. Lord, put on my heart what I can do for you this day.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."
2 Corinthians 12:9 "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
