Baby Wearing Benefits

kaeli-mommy-slingDon't give up the blessing of holding baby close, while the everyday tasks continue to escalate and demand your attention. Who doesn't love to hold a baby close and smell their sweet baby scent? I surely do and I have to say, I love to wear my baby and toddler often in a reversiblebaby pouch sling . I use my trusted baby pouch sling that has reversible fabric to match almost anything. The best part about it is that the babies love it too.

According to Dr. William and Martha Sears, "Baby Wearing does good things for babies, and it makes life easier for mothers." I couldn't agree more. I use my baby sling to carry my little angels close, to nurse, cook, shop, walk and use the computer (yeah, hands free) and excercise, to name a few. With my busy WAHM (work at home mom) schedule, anything that allows me the convenience of getting things done while also being close to my girls, is a bonus. My oldest is 29 months and my baby is almost 7 months. It is so precious when my toddler asks, "can I have a turn mommy". I guess I should have a second baby sling just for her but she is good at sharing thankfully and I know the sling is safe to hold up to 35 lbs. My friends love their pouch and baby ring slings too and we share our ideas on how to get the best out of baby wearing and our baby carriers.

I will be posting some pictures in the future of my little angels close in the baby pouch sling so you can see what brings me such joy and helps me get things done. It is great nursing my baby in the sling at the park while still being able to keep up with my toddler playing on the playground. I love that I don't have to miss being close to either of them. Usually, when I put my youngest down for a nap and she's out of the sling, my toddler will want to have "her turn" in the sling. She'll snuggle her head as close to my chest and listen to my heart beat under the sling fabric. I nursed her for 15 months and was pregnant with her sister so I was told to stop. I guess that's why it is even sweeter to know that she wants to be cuddly close to mommy even without nursing and with all her energy.

I can't get enough of those special times with my daughters. They encourage me daily to do my best and to be thankful for every moment. Having children surely makes time fly by and I don't want to miss a beat of it. If any other mom's have baby wearing stories or benefits you would like to share, please do. I appreciate your input and stories of your blessings with baby and your baby wearing fun.

Of course baby slings aren't only for mommy's, as daddy's and others can wear them too. My husband prefers wearing our baby in the pouch baby sling while I am taking a much needed bubble bath after a long day or when I am out getting groceries and he's helping watch our little angels. That way, he's able to get things done and keep our baby comforted and enjoy playing with our toddler too.

Studies have even shown greater benefits of baby wearing beyond providing feedings and close nurturing contact that baby needs. Baby wearing also provides security for babies and toddlers and helps to nourish a greater sense of comfort, freedom, attachment and overall a decrease in fear of others and change. What a great gift, to not have to sacrifice the closeness and your babies needs just to get things done. You can bless baby and be blessed too.
